Quizlet is a FREE website where you can create study tools for students, or students can create study tools for themselves. It is great for vocabulary practice because you can create flash cards and play games to practice those words. There are also sets of vocabulary words already created that you can search and find definitions that other people have written. Creating an account and using the website is all free!

Classroom Architect

Classroom Architect is a great tool to move around furniture in your classroom without having to do all the work, until you find an arrangement that you like! This website gives you a birds-eye view of the classroom so you can see where all of the furniture can be placed. This is definitely helpful when you're thinking of rearranging your classroom!

This website isn't necessarily a resource for teachers, but it is definitely fun brain workout! There are games to help enhance memory, attention, creativity, and overall brain performance. To do personal brain training, you must create an account. What's better than playing games and working out your brain at the same time? 

NEA

The NEA is the National Education Association, as all teachers in the United States probably know. The NEA website is a good resource for teachers to look at every once in a while to see what is happening in education all around the country. This website addresses issues in education and suggests plans of action to work toward better public schools for all students. Lesson plans, activities, and teaching strategies can also be found here. This is also the spot where you can sign up to be an NEA member, which has many benefits!

NSTA

The NSTA is the National Science Teachers Association. Although more of the website is accessible with a membership (which is beneficial for all teachers, not just those teaching science), there are still useful articles that are available for browsers without a membership. This website has information about what is happening in science and in science education around the country. Ideas for science lessons and experiments can also be found here, which is helpful for us teachers who struggle with science ideas and integration (I'm working on it!)

Busy Teacher's Cafe

Busy Teacher's Cafe is another resource that offers free printables of lesson plans and activities for kindergarten through sixth grade teachers. This website also has teaching strategies for teachers of this grade level. One thing that I especially like about this website is that it has a monthly resource page that offers seasonal and monthly classroom ideas. Another interesting thing on this site is that it features a classroom website every month so that other teachers can get ideas about how their own websites can be updated. 

OSPI

OSPI is the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction in Washington State. This is a necessary resource for soon-to-be and practicing teachers in Washington because it has information about getting teaching certification and renewing certificates, education programs in Washington, state learning standards, and other information that all Washington teachers need to know. There are also articles on this website about what's happening in Washington State schools. This website should be bookmarked by all teachers in Washington if it's not already!

It is important for teachers to stay up-to-date on issues and trends that are happening within their line of work because they are directly affected by them. This website has posts from real teachers about a variety of subjects and includes a list of other education blogs to explore. There are a lot of interesting articles on this website that are worth the read!

This website also has seasonal items and a page where you can search for local teaching jobs, which makes it unique from the other resources. Another bonus, everything on the site is FREE! This would definitely be a good site to spend a little time to navigate through and get ideas from.

Worksheet Works

Worksheet Works is a useful website where teachers can input information into various types of worksheets such as crossword puzzles, word searches, t-charts, mind maps, and more. Teachers could use this for creating worksheets for vocabulary practice, math skill practice, literacy questions, or geography quizzes. This is also a good resource for parents if they want to create practice worksheets for their children to complete at home.

Teachers Pay Teachers is a website where teachers can buy and download resources for their classroom. It also has free items available for downloading. It includes unit plans, lesson plans, activity pages, PowerPoints, and much more for preschool level all the way through adult education and homeschooling. Education can be an expensive field, so this website allows teachers to share resources for a low price.

Scholastic

The Scholastic website has a ton of great ideas for activities, lessons, teaching strategies, and products for classrooms from the preschool level all the way through high school. This website has links for teachers, parents, students, administrators, and librarians, so it is a well-rounded resource. I highly recommend that soon-to-be-teachers and practicing teachers sign up for an account on this website to gain full access to all of the information it has to offer. There is so much fun stuff on this website, don't click the link unless you have a few hours to explore! 

TED Talks

TED Talks are a wonderful resource for teachers to use in their classroom. They are inspirational and informational speeches given by celebrities and professionals about a wide range of topics. TED Talks are a great way to introduce children to new ideas and innovative thinking and teachers can use the videos to enhance their lessons.
